Stockport Sports Trust is committed to supporting our athletes for the future, through various development, training and performance pathways. 

With assistance available to individuals we are keen to encourage athletes from the borough to progress on a national and international level through financial, educational or training support.

The ultimate aspiration is that promising young athletes from Stockport will be supported to achieve the goal of competing at a national and international level, and where possible, on the biggest stage of all, the 2012 London Olympics.

Another arm of the scheme will offer young athletes the opportunity to develop a career in the leisure/sport industry, through training and coaching opportunities.

Small grants are available through the Greater Manchester Sports Fund, which is open to those athletes who have reached County, Regional or National honours and who have the potential to progress further given appropriate financial support to access training and trials.  For further information visit www.greatersport.co.uk/greatermanchestersportsfund
